Sooper is a Chicago Art Pop label owned and operated by artists Nnamdi Ogbonnaya and Sen Morimoto. Founded by Ogbonnaya and Chicago musician Glenn Curran in 2016, Sooper is a home for Chicago artists to release music on a common platform. We release original music on high-quality digital and physical formats including download, vinyl, cassette, and CD. We operate primarily through this website, which features an online store, exclusive merchandise, streaming capabilities, and artist information. We hope that you'll browse our store and find new music to fall in love with.
Our experience has taught us that a fruitful artistic community is one where each inspires all, and Sooper is an attempt to create a space that incubates, energizes, and broadcasts that prerogative. As a result, Sooper is not bound by any specific genre. Our catalogue features rap, rock, pop, noise, hardcore and everything in between. We view Sooper artists as being linked by a basic attribute; namely, the creation of quality work that explores some aspect of the artistic experience in an authentic way. In this regard, we aspire to be a significant (though incomplete) reflection of the roiling sea of creativity in the Chicago music community. There is a pervasive feeling that something special is taking place in Chicago music, and if enough people believe and work at that notion in an inspired way, it must be true.
